Ottawa Share Club -Tuesday May 19 Meeting Announcement

The Ottawa Share Club in its 18th year is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the sharing of financial knowledge.  It is not an investment club.

Roundtable Discussion:   Tracking the Markets and Sectors using ETFs


Jan Tvedt, one of our shareclub members, will present his methodology for tracking various markets and sectors using ETFs. He has been using ETFs to tell which sectors and markets are outperforming or underperforming. Jan has been tracking various ETFs since the beginning of the year using a spreadsheet. He will share some of his insights and knowledge he has gained since starting this endeavor.

Speaker: Jaime Purvis, Executive Vice President, Horizons Exchange Traded Funds Inc.


Jaime manages the national due diligence and education process with the ETF Analysts at the Canadian Investment Dealers, as well he manages Horizons ETFs’ utilization and strategy in the Dealers’ managed asset and discretionary management programs.


Jaime is also responsible for directing Horizons’ strategy and implementation in the self-directed investor channel by delivering integral concepts and product knowledge to both the management and operations of the Dealers, and to the end investors.
